Great Change

Adam Bennett’s “Great Change” is a book about leading change and organisational transformation. Adam has lived experience leading change in many significant organisations in Australia and overseas. This book provides a roadmap to understand and manage the challenges of a major transformation and is therefore a valuable resource to business leaders facing the economic challenges of 2024.

Having spent much of my career as an executive leading change, I see this book as an identifiable, relatable and practical guide to the challenges I face each day leading people and organisations through major transformation, and it highlights the challenges and importance of getting all stakeholders on-board.  As Adam states clearly, change is all about people.

My favourite quote under the heading of “Three reasons transformation is so hard” is “The status quo never has to argue its own case”.  The business has spent a long time establishing the status quo.  It worked, for a time at least, and people like it that way.  So why change? Adam guides the reader on the methods and mechanics of answering this question and the actions that will ensure your strategy creates real, measurable results.

Reading Adam’s book demonstrates that we all face similar challenges in the business transformation area. I would recommend this as a must read for anyone that is leading their organisation through change in 2024.
